Heavy Vehicle Mechanic | Toowoomba, QLD | $55–$57 per hour + OT | Long-term Opportunity

🛠️ Opportunity: No two jobs are quite the same. Work across everything from heavy trucks and trailers to mobile plant, quarry equipment and smaller machinery. If you enjoy fault-finding, fixing things properly and getting stuck into a varied workload, this could be the role for you.

🎓 Experience: Trade-qualified mechanic with experience in heavy diesel, heavy vehicles, light vehicles, agricultural machinery or mobile plant. You don't need to have worked on every type of equipment. Strong mechanical fundamentals, a practical approach and the willingness to learn matter just as much.

💰 Benefits: Earn $55–$57 per hour + OT, with a $58 meal allowance, a $25 weekly tool allowance when using your own tools, and an additional $2–$4 per hour for site work, depending on the location. A three-month performance review provides an opportunity for a pay increase, with long-term potential for the right person.

📜 Extras: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent). HR and forklift licences are desirable. Standard 38-hour week, generally 6am–5pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday work from 5am–11am. Overtime after 7.6 standard hours, plus a 17.5% afternoon shift loading. We're after someone who's reliable, easy to work with, willing to share knowledge and happy to tackle whatever rolls into the workshop.
