What’s on offer?
We are looking to appoint an experienced and capable HSE Manager to support our Telecommunications & Power Projects within Fulton Hogan Utilities in Western Australia. Based in Belmont, this is a key leadership role responsible for driving HSE performance across a high-risk operational environment, partnering closely with operational leaders, frontline teams, subcontractors and clients to deliver safe, compliant and efficient project outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven HSE professional to lead a high-performing team, influence operational decision-making, and contribute to the ongoing success of a critical utilities portfolio.
In this role you'll be responsible for:
Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of Fulton Hogan HSE systems, standards and initiatives across Telecommunications & Power Projects in WA
Providing visible leadership, coaching and direction to HSE team members, operational leaders and frontline personnel to strengthen risk ownership and safety performance
Partnering with project and operational leaders to embed critical risk management, safe systems of work and practical controls across high-risk field activities
Overseeing HSE assurance activities including audits, inspections, investigations, corrective actions and performance reporting to verify compliance and drive improvement
Supporting effective contractor and subcontractor HSE management to ensure alignment with Fulton Hogan requirements, client expectations and legislative obligations
Leading incident response, investigation and learnings processes, ensuring timely close-out of actions and identification of systemic improvement opportunities
Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
How you'll connect to the role:
Relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline
Demonstrated HSE leadership experience within utilities, power, telecommunications, construction or other high-risk operational environments
Strong understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), risk management principles and contractor management requirements
Proven capability in leading audits, incident investigations, corrective actions and assurance activities in complex operational settings
Formal incident investigation training, ideally ICAM Lead Investigator trained
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coach at all levels of the organisation
Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
