Support great people. Coordinate meaningful training. Help our team do life-changing work.
BackTrack is a nationally recognised organisation supporting young people who are doing it tough to find safety, purpose, and a community that never gives up on them. We work differently — with dogs, with farms, with real-world learning, and with a whole lot of heart.
We are looking for an HR & Training Coordinator to help keep our people processes running smoothly and our staff supported, skilled and connected. Working closely with leaders and teams across BackTrack, you will coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, maintain HR systems, records, personnel files and compliance requirements, support training and development, and help deliver practical processes that make it easier for our people to do their best work.
If you are organised, proactive and people-focused, with a genuine interest in supporting staff and strengthening workplace capability, we’d love to hear from you.

- Coordinate staff training activities, compliance requirements, enrolments, attendance records, certifications, learning pathways, follow-up actions and reporting across the organisation
- Assist with HR policies, procedures, forms and routine Award or employment condition enquiries
- Provide professional, customer-focused support to managers, staff, trainees, young people and external stakeholders on day-to-day HR and training matters
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in HR administration, recruitment support, onboarding, employment documentation, compliance tracking or training coordination, with the ability to work with increasing independence in a team environment
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and confidential information accurately
- Sound understanding of employment-related administration, including confidentiality, record keeping, personnel files, leave processes and the ability to interpret and apply routine Award, policy and procedure requirements within established guidelines
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare written information, explain processes clearly and build respectful working relationships with staff, young people, trainees, managers and external stakeholders
- A demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and privacy
- Strong digital capability, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use HR, payroll, learning management or records systems accurately.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check, or the willingness and ability to obtain required checks prior to commencement
Desirable
- Experience or qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Training and Assessment, Psychology or a related discipline, and/or experience in the youth, community services, education, training or not-for-profit sector
- Familiarity with funded program administration, reporting requirements, trainee pathways or employment transition support would also be highly regarded
- Familiarity or experience using Employment Hero would be advantageous
