HR Business Partner - Tier 1 Mining Contractor

Our client is a leading ASX-listed Tier 1 Mining Contractor with operations across Australia. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their high-performing People & Culture team based in their modern Brisbane CBD corporate office.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a respected industry leader, partnering with operational and corporate leaders to deliver strategic and operational HR initiatives across a diverse workforce.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of People you'll act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing expert HR support across the full employee lifecycle while contributing to key people strategies that drive business performance.
Working closely with site leadership teams, you'll balance strategic partnering with hands-on HR support in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with operational and corporate leaders to provide proactive HR advice and coaching.
• Support workforce planning, organisational design and talent management initiatives.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations.
• Coach leaders in people management, leadership capability and best practice HR processes.
• Assist with remuneration, succession planning and employee development initiatives.
• Support enterprise agreements, employment legislation compliance and industrial relations matters.
• Drive employee engagement, culture and retention initiatives.
• Contribute to HR projects, continuous improvement and organisational change programs.
• Analyse people metrics and provide insights to support informed business decisions.
• Build strong relationships across corporate and site-based operations.

About You
You are a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys working closely with leaders to solve complex people challenges while maintaining a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
You'll also bring:

• Previous experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar.
• Experience within mining, resources, civil construction, heavy industry or a related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience managing employee relations, investigations and performance matters.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• A collaborative, resilient and proactive approach.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
• The ability to travel occasionally to operational sites as required.
