What you’ll be doing
Enjoy practical work where you can see the difference you make? As our Trade Assistant in Launceston, TAS, you’ll support CHL’s Internal Maintenance Services (IMS) team to complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Reporting to the IMS Electrical Supervisor, you’ll bring our values to life through teamwork, care for our customers and pride in a job well done.
You’ll assist tradespeople and builders with general tasks, undertake gardening, landscaping, maintenance and cleaning, and prepare equipment and work sites. Your day-to-day work will also include operating machinery and power tools, cleaning and maintaining tools, and storing equipment safely.
Working both independently on assigned duties and alongside the team, you’ll help complete jobs on time, follow workplace health and safety requirements, report identified risks, and communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders. You’ll also lend a hand to the wider team when needed.
What we’re looking for
You’re a practical, proactive team player who takes pride in quality work and shares our commitment to every person’s right to good quality housing. You communicate clearly, listen carefully and adapt to the task at hand, remaining positive and calm when challenges arise. You’ll work within approved safety processes and contribute to a respectful workplace.
- A current driver’s licence — mandatory.
- A White Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Satisfactory Police and Working with Children checks (we will process this for you; if successful)
- A trade qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable, but not essential.
