Our Rare Earths mine at Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths deposits in the world and we operate the world’s largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia – so you’re joining a very unique team! As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.

An excellent opportunity exists for a Graduate Mining Engineer to develop hands-on mining engineering experience within a supportive operational environment. Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will assist with mine planning, production reporting, drill and blast coordination, contractor management, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to safe and efficient mining operations. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.

As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:

  • Assist with mine planning, production reporting, and operational tracking
  • Support drill and blast activities and mining performance monitoring
  • Participate in site inspections and promote safe work practices
  • Assist with technical reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively with mining, geology, processing, and maintenance teams
  • Participate in site project work
  • Gain exposure to day-to-day open pit mining operations

What you will bring to the team:

  • Tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree) in mining engineering or related discipline.
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Keen interest in developing a career in mining operations
  • Previous vacation work or internship experience within mining highly regarded
