Burke Shire Council is seeking applications for the position of General Labourer / Operator. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in their day, and contributing to projects that directly benefit the local community.

About the role:

The primary purpose of this position is to support Councils Engineering Department, with a focus on assisting the Roads Construction and/or Maintenance team. You will work across a range of projects and may be required to assist with broader works operations, including roads, infrastructure, and depot activities, depending on operational requirements.

Duties may include:

• Assist with road construction and maintenance works

• General labouring duties across Council works

• Operation of plant and equipment (where licenced)

• Support depot and works operations as required

• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in civil road works and/or general labouring

• Road construction or RMPC experience (desirable)

• Current C class driver’s licence (essential)

• HR, HC, MC or heavy machinery tickets (desirable)

• Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work as part of a team
