Job Description
Joining our Broadcast Operations team in North Sydney, you will work a varied 7-day roster to expertly manage the studio floor across both automated and manual productions. Your primary focus is to drive seamless communication and flawless technical execution to deliver exceptional live and pre-recorded content for Nine's biggest brands, including Nine News, A Current Affair and Stan Sport.
Please note: We are recruiting for two positions: one permanent, full-time role and one 12-month full-time, parental leave cover.
Day to day you will:
Serve as the vital link on the studio floor between the control room, technical crew, and on-air talent.
Provide precise cues, timing, and movement briefs to talent while keeping the director updated on any technical changes.
Coordinate floor activities across both automated and manual productions, assisting crew and performing specialist tasks when required.
Lead pre-show preparation by ensuring the studio is clean, technical checks (mics, IFBs, lighting) are completed, and equipment is ready.
Deliver, set up, and maintain floor hardware, including microphones, cameras, monitors, and props.
Proactively prepare for upcoming show segments by anticipating technical needs and liaising with production staff.
Oversee safety issues on the studio floor and ensure talent has clear visibility of program monitors.
Train team members while maintaining accurate operational documentation and reports.
What you'll bring:
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain calm under live pressure.
Proven ability to build professional rapport with crew, producers, and high-profile talent.
Sharp attention to detail, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Solid understanding of operational coordination, staging requirements, and safety protocols.
Knowledge and operation of wireless and wired microphones and IFB systems.
Prior experience in a fast-paced studio floor or live production environment is highly regarded.
Familiarity with broadcast equipment, camera operations, or audio setups is a distinct advantage.
