Fitter Machinist Apprentice

HunterNet Career Connections are seeking a dedicated individual to join our host company in Malaga WA as an Apprentice Fitter Machinist. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong work ethic who is ideally in their 2nd or 3rd year of completing the Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade. 

Our Host company Regal Rexnord are a leading producer of motors and related components, their essential products help keep systems running in mission-critical applications worldwide- including indoor air quality products used in hospitals, homes, and senior living facilities; industrial products that support food and beverage, and pharmaceutical production; and conveying equipment and components that help warehouse’s function.

As an Apprentice your main duties will include:

• Assist trades with cleaning of gearboxes on arrival
• Disassembly of gearboxes and preparation of strip reports
• Assist in the assembly of new and rebuild gearboxes including assembly reports
• Assist with the set up of load testing of gearboxes
• Prepare parts for NDT testing
• Prepare finished gearboxes for shipping
• Painting and preparation for painting if required
• Assist trades with hydraulic pipework and hose connections
• Instrumentation fitting
• Prepare parts from warehouse ready for assembly
• General workshop maintenance and cleaning as required

• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Commitment to the full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements
• Drivers licence and reliable transport
