Position Details

• Roster: 8 & 6 (12-hour days) – FIFO from Perth only or Karratha local. 

• Start Date: ASAP

• Location: Rio Tinto Sites, Karratha Western Australia

• Duration: Fixed-term 3 months (with potential extension, project-dependent)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Track Protection Officer (TPO) to join our team on a fixed-term 8/6 roster assignment.

Reporting to the Safeworking Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing safeworking protection for track workers and coordinating safe rail operations across Yurra operations.

Requirements

• Current and valid Rio Tinto Track Protection Officer qualifications
• Available to commence / complete medical asap
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Full unrestricted HR Licence and operator tickets are highly desirable but not essential

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage appropriate track protection authorities accross both passive and active crossings
• Communicate effectively with the Train Controller and Site Supervisor
• Monitor and enforce safeworking rules in line with operational requirements
• Implement resolution strategies when required
• Act decisively and uphold safeworking standards at all times
• Maintain current safeworking knowledge in accordance with operating rules
