Chelgrave Contracting is calling for expressions of interest from experienced tradespeople to work on plant maintenance at the Alcoa aluminium smelter in Portland, Victoria. This is not shutdown or project work this is general plant maintenance so there is the opportunity for consistent work for those seeking it.

We are currently building a pool of qualified candidates, so if you're interested, we want to hear from you now.

We are looking to hear from experienced:

• Mechanical Fitters
• Boilermakers
• Riggers
• Scaffolders

What's on Offer

• Accommodation: Provided in Portland for candidates travelling from distant locations
• Meal allowance: $80 per day for candidates travelling in and staying in provided accommodation
• Pay rates: 
  • Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers: $64.02 p/hr casual
  • Riggers and Scaffolders: $58.02 p/hr casual
• 9 day fortnight: The work is arranged in 9 day fortnights with every second Friday off.
• 10 hour work days and other opportunities for overtime
• Potential for weekend work when required

What We're Looking For

• Relevant trade qualification or licence for your role
• Proven experience in an industrial/heavy industry environment, ideally within smelters, refineries, or similar plants
• Willingness to travel to and work on-site in Portland, VIC
• Current right to work in Australia
