WSP is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with up to 7 years’ commercial experience to join our Brisbane-based Geotechnical & Tunnels team and contribute to some of Australia’s most interesting and technically challenging infrastructure projects. You’ll be supported by strong local teams, a global network of expertise, and clear pathways for career growth, while balancing hands-on fieldwork with analysis, design input and client‑focused project delivery.

About the role

You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle, planning and delivering geotechnical investigations, interpreting ground conditions, and supporting practical, well-considered engineering solutions. Working alongside experienced senior engineers, you’ll continue to build your technical capability while contributing meaningfully to project outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and deliver geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, logging and in‑situ testing
  • Analyse geotechnical and geological data to inform design and construction outcomes
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and design recommendations
  • Support earthworks, foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement works
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure projects
  • Assist with proposals, scopes, and cost estimates under senior guidance
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders

 

About you

  • Degree qualified in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
  • 2 - 7 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within consultancy
  • Strong grounding in soil and rock mechanics and site investigation practices
  • Confident communicator with developing technical writing skills
  • Exposure to geotechnical software and willingness to continue learning
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and flexibility for site work
  • Working toward Engineers Australia membership / Chartership
