Your opportunity at FIELD
As a Civil / Structural Engineer (3-6 years’ experience), based in our Mackay Office, you will make use of your engineering and analytical expertise working closely with our clients to develop practical solutions to complex engineering problems.
We specialise in small to medium-sized projects and are not afraid to take on work that others might consider challenging or high risk. You’ll be part of a small team working on end-to-end design, development and verification of civil engineering solutions. Your focus will be on civil and structural design projects, interpreting data, and conducting advanced engineering analysis and simulation. You will also work on feasibility studies and plant upgrade projects, and inspections and risk assessments. You'll get the satisfaction of taking diverse projects from start to end.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Be degree qualified – B Eng (Civil) or similar is the minimum requirement.
- Like nothing better than to sink your teeth into a challenging problem.
- Enjoy taking ownership of your work to get stuff done.
- Be solutions focussed and enjoy finding a workable outcome to sometimes daunting problems.
- Bring skills in design and analysis. SPACE GASS, Ansys and SolidWorks are the main tools we use.
- Be familiar with AS4100, AS3600, AS1170, AS1657.
- Be able to interpretate geotechnical testing data (DCP, plate load bearing tests).
Ideally, you will have 3 to 6 years’ experience in concrete foundations and slabs for plant and infrastructure, hardstand, shutdown and construction pads, and mining and heavy industrial civil infrastructure including reclaim tunnels, culverts, and retaining walls.
