Introduction
Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine is expected to be a long life mine and has stated FY26 guidance to produce 130,000-150,000 Au ounces.
Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks production with exploration potential expected to grow the current high-grade resource.
The Bellevue Gold Mine is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.
Bellevue Gold has achieved its ambitious goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions for the Bellevue Gold Project. Description
The Electrical Leading Hand is a responsible for leading electrical maintenance and repair work across the gold processing plant and site infrastructure. The role supports the Electrical Supervisor with planning and overseeing daily tasks, ensuring all work is done safely and in line with relevant mining and electrical legislation.
This is a hands-on position that includes mentoring the team, troubleshooting breakdowns, and working closely with other departments to contribute to the successful delivery of departmental objectives and KPIs. The Leading Hand is also required to step into the Electrical Supervisor role when needed to maintain operational and legislative compliance.
This position is offered on a full-time basis, working 12 hours per day on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster at our Bellevue Gold Project outside of Leinster WA.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Processing Department with electrical and instrumentation technical support, including high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage and process control systems.
- Assist technicians in the development of Work packs and risk assessments.
- Providing ongoing leadership and mentoring for the team.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with mining regulations, electrical legislation, and site safety procedures.
- Ensuring the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by applying effective preventative maintenance practices through scheduled inspections, adjustments, and timely repair of equipment.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrating full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems by developing and participating in initiatives, toolbox meetings, investigations, training, assisting with the implementation/contributing to audits.
- Ensuring work practices and the place of work are maintained, by evaluating associated risks and hazards of each task prior to the commencement to ensure safe working environment and the utilization of correct equipment.
- Reporting all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential plant or equipment stoppages to a direct Supervisor or area Supervisor as soon as is practicable.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping throughout the maintenance workshops and wherever maintenance work is carried out to contribute towards a safe work environment, efficient operation of the facilities and to reduce the risk of incidents or injury and the existence of potential hazards.
- Completing all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, recording of labour time, etc. through the efficient utilisation information management systems.
- An on-call component as required.
Skills And Experiences
Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience/Competencies:
- Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Electrical experience on a mine site.
- Current Police Clearance.
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
- HV Switching operations.
- In-House Electrical Nominee (desirable).
- Cert IV in instrumentation (desirable).
- Low Voltage Rescue/CPR or Senior First Aid.
- Crane, Dogging, EWP, First Aid and Forklift tickets (desirable).
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate desirable
- Site appointment as Electrical Supervisor.
- Sound understanding of Fixed Plant maintenance & operations.
- Knowledge of statutory safety and environmental requirements relevant to plant maintenance and classified plant. Including The Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
- Good level of knowledge in electrical statutory requirements, Acts and Legislations.
- Good level of knowledge in computer literacy, Pronto and MS Office.
- Sound knowledge of PLC’s and SCADA systems.
- Effective time management.
- Good communication skills.
