Working a 15:6 FIFO roster ex Perth, you’ll take a key site leadership role overseeing the safe and productive delivery of significant bulk earthworks and civil construction activities.

About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Superintendent will lead and coordinate multiple work teams to deliver complex civil construction activities safely, efficiently and in accordance with project objectives.

You’ll take responsibility for the effective planning of people, plant, subcontractors and construction activities, ensuring work fronts are properly resourced and construction methodologies are planned well in advance.

A major focus of the role will be bulk earthworks production and productivity. You’ll work closely with Supervisors and the broader project team to monitor performance, identify constraints and drive improvements that keep the project moving safely and efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

   •  Lead the safe and productive delivery of bulk earthworks and civil construction activities
   •  Coordinate multiple work fronts, Supervisors, Foremen, crews and subcontractors
   •  Plan labour, plant, equipment and other resources to meet project program and productivity requirements
   •  Develop & communicate construction methodologies in collaboration with the Project Manager and project team
   •  Drive productivity across project activities and ensure performance is effectively measured and monitored
   •  Identify constraints and implement improvements to increase construction efficiency and productivity
   •  Lead and reinforce a strong safety culture across all work fronts  
   •  Ensure Supervisors and crews have the skills, information and resources required to perform effectively
   •  Monitor subcontractor productivity and performance against project requirements
   •  Work closely with engineering, HSEQ, plant and project leadership to coordinate construction activities
   •  Build strong working relationships with the client, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
   •  Participate in project planning and coordination meetings and communicate project requirements clearly across the workforce

Your skills and experience

   •  Demonstrated experience as a Superintendent on major civil construction, mining or resources projects
   •  Strong bulk earthworks experience is essential
   •  Previous tailings storage facility (TSF), mining infrastructure or similar bulk earthworks project experience will be highly regarded.
   •  Extensive practical experience supervising and leading multiple construction work teams
   •  Strong understanding of earthworks production, productivity and heavy mobile plant operations
   •  Proven ability to plan and coordinate labour, plant, equipment and subcontractors across multiple work fronts
   •  Strong leadership capability with the ability to build high-performing site teams
   •  Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and environmental performance
   •  Sound understanding of construction methodologies, planning and project delivery requirements
   •  Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
   •  Previous Pilbara and FIFO project experience will be highly regarded
   •  Construction White Card
   •  Valid C Class driver’s licence, with HR licence highly regarded
   •  Diploma in Civil Construction or Certificate IV in Frontline Management will be highly regarded
