Keep containers moving. Keep the wharf flowing. Keep the operation in control.

When coastal coordination is done well, nobody notices.
Containers clear on time.
Costs don’t blow out.
Customers stay informed.

This role makes that happen. Every single day.

Why this role matters

This is a critical role at the centre of coastal and wharf operations in WA.

Following a major shift to a more complex intermodal model, freight movement now involves more moving parts, tighter margins, and less room for error.

That’s where you come in.

A hands-on, fast-paced role where your coordination directly impacts cost, service and performance.

Why join?

  • Be central to freight movement across WA’s coastal network

  • Work closely with rail, port and cartage operations

  • Real impact on cost control, service and customer outcomes

  • Step into a role with ownership, not just task-taking

  • Join a team navigating real change - and shaping how the network operates next

Your impact

  • Coordinate daily wharf lodgements and clearances - ensuring containers move without delay

  • Align freight with vessel schedules - keeping shipments on time and on plan

  • Manage coastal and customer documentation - delivering accurate, audit-ready records

  • Identify and resolve issues early - preventing delays, rework and additional charges

  • Communicate across port, rail, cartage and customers - keeping everyone aligned and informed

  • Support planning across rail, road and intermodal - enabling smooth, efficient execution

  • Maintain clean, reliable system updates - supporting visibility, billing and control

  • Minimise detention, demurrage and unnecessary cost - protecting margin and performance

Not just keeping things moving - keeping them under control.

How you thrive here

You’ll do well if you bring:

  • Experience in shipping, wharf, port or transport operations

  • Confidence across multiple systems and quick to learn new platforms

  • Strong Excel capability and high data accuracy

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in real time

  • Clear, confident communicator with operational stakeholders

  • Proactive - identifies issues early and acts fast

  • Resilience in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment

  • Detail-driven mindset - errors have real consequences

> If you wait to be told what to do - this isn’t the role.
>> If you take ownership and solve problems early - you’ll thrive here.
