Master Builders Tasmania Apprenticeship Services is seeking a motivated Junior Apprentice Carpenter (1st Year) to join a small-scale residential building company based in the Devonport region.

This opportunity is ideal for a young person under 21 who is eager to begin a hands-on career in the construction industry. The successful candidate will earn while they learn, working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Carpentry with the support of experienced tradespeople.

About the Role:

This position offers the chance to build practical skills across a range of residential projects in a supportive and team-focused environment. It’s a great pathway for someone committed to developing a long-term career in carpentry.

Key Requirements:

  • Under 21 years of age
  • Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent)
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable transport (or close to obtaining)
  • Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 20kg
  • Reasonable literacy and numeracy skills
  • Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good hand-eye coordination and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to completing a 4-year apprenticeship
