A large and expanding food manufacturing organisation is offering an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to commence or continue their career as a Maintenance Fitter Apprentice. With significant investment in plant upgrades and ongoing expansion, this role provides real hands-on learning and exposure to a wide range of industrial equipment and systems.

You’ll work alongside experienced maintenance fitters, gaining practical skills while developing technical knowledge in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment

  • Support installation, repair, and upgrade of plant machinery

  • Learn welding and fabrication techniques

  • Assist with fault finding across mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics

  • Interpret basic technical drawings and maintenance instructions

  • Safely perform work at heights when required

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using computer systems

  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

Skills & Attributes

  • Genuine interest in mechanical maintenance and manufacturing

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop trade skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment

  • Basic computer literacy

  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork

  • Electrical exposure or interest highly regarded
