National Electric Motor Services (NEMS) is a trusted provider of electrical rotating machine repairs, servicing motors and generators for the mining and power generation sectors across Western Australia. In addition to repairs, NEMS supplies a range of new products that support our service operations.
With a close knit team of eight, we pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety, and developing skilled tradespeople.
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Fitter Apprentice to join our team. This hybrid trade offers an excellent opportunity to work across both mechanical and electrical tasks while learning from highly experienced tradespeople.
As an apprentice, you will gain hands on experience with real industrial equipment and be supported throughout your training toward the Electrical Fitter qualification.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include:
- Disassembling electric motors and generators
- Inspecting and testing electrical rotating machines
- Cleaning, preparing, and organising parts
- Assembling motors and generators
- Painting components and completed assemblies
- Preparing finished products for despatch
- Supporting general workshop and yard housekeeping tasks
Our ideal candidate:
- Is mechanically minded and interested in developing electrical skills
- Works well in a team and communicates respectfully
- Is willing to learn, take direction, and be mentored by senior staff
- Is physically capable and comfortable with hands on tasks and workshop environments
- Has a positive attitude and a strong willingness to develop in the trade
Essential:
- Current driver’s licence
- Reliable transport
Desirable (but not essential):
- LF Forklift Licence
- DG Dogging Licence
- Pre apprenticeship in electrical
- HR Licence
