Are you a current 3rd year Apprentice Boilermaker looking to continue developing your fabrication and welding skills with a hands-on Australian engineering business? NEPEAN Engineering is seeking motivated apprentice tradespeople to join our Prestons, NSW facility and continue progressing toward trade qualification.

This is an opportunity to build on your existing apprenticeship experience, work with steel, fabrication equipment and real project work, and continue developing the skills needed for a long-term career in boilermaking and fabrication.

About the opportunity

This opportunity is suited to apprentices who have successfully completed the early stages of a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade and are ready to continue their apprenticeship in a practical, workshop-based environment. You’ll continue building capability across fabrication, welding, cutting, grinding, assembly and general engineering practices while contributing to real project work.

You’ll gain further exposure to fabrication drawings, welding processes, plate and structural steel work, measuring equipment, workshop machinery, hand and power tools and safe work practices while continuing to develop accuracy, confidence and trade capability.

What you’ll continue developing

• Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, specifications and job requirements.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, shaping and preparing steel components.
• Welding, grinding, drilling and fabrication techniques used in engineering workshops.
• Assembling fabricated components and supporting project work to required quality standards.
• Safe use of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
• Working safely, reliably and productively as part of a trade team.
