Yilka Heritage and Land Care
Yilka Heritage and Land Care (YHLC) is based in East Perth and Cosmo Newberry, a small Aboriginal community in Western Australia, located 1,036 kilometres east of Perth between Laverton and Warburton in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. YHLC is a subsidiary of the Yilka Talintji Aboriginal Corporation which holds Native Title for the Yilka native title holders.
The Role
YHLC is currently seeking a full time Administrative and Logistics officer, who will assist with the following:
1. Efficient and effective administration of the Yilka Groups East Perth and Cosmo Newberry offices.
2. Assist in the management of Yilka Groups assets and equipment.
3. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the staff and directors of the Yilka Group, including:
3.1 Coordinating and undertaking the travel arrangements, bookings and logistics for staff and directors undertaking work-based travel.
3.2 Assisting in:
a) ensuring that all payments are properly expended and acquitted; and
b) liaising, where relevant, with other staff, directors and accountants and bookkeepers on payment-related matters.
3.3 Providing administrative and secretarial support for directorsโ meetings and team meetings; and
3.4 Coordinating the planning and arranging of directorsโ meetings and team meetings.
4. Assist in other administrative tasks as directed.
To be considered for this position it is essential that you:
1. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team and a commitment to teamwork.
2. Demonstrate the ability to work independently without direct supervision and demonstrate initiative.
3. Strong written and oral communications skills.
4. Competence in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
5. Experience working with Aboriginal people is not essential but is desired.
The successful person will be based in East Perth with occasional travel to Cosmo Newberry
