Workshop Boilermaker

Established in 1985, NEPEAN Conveyors manufactures and markets conveyor components including pulleys, idlers, rapid advance-rapid retreat components and drive-heads and provides on-site installation, maintenance, and relocation services for conveyor installations.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fabrication Boilermaker to join our Mackay workshop team.

Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this role is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of capital and used mining and materials handling equipment. Working within a safety-focused workshop environment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality fabrication and welding services to support customer projects and operational requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Boilermaker who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working on a diverse range of mining and conveyor equipment.

•  Perform welding and fabrication activities in accordance with AS1554 Part 1 SP standards
• MIG welding including bare wire and flux-cored welding processes
• Conduct Sub-Arc welding operations
• Perform air arc gouging, plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel flame cutting
• Fabricate components from workshop drawings and specifications
• Complete drilling, pressing, and fitting of fabricated components
• Assemble and disassemble mining and materials handling equipment
• Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure workshop and storage areas remain clean, organised, and free from hazards
• Follow all WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control

You are a trade-qualified Boilermaker with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. You enjoy working in a fast-paced workshop environment and take pride in delivering high-quality fabrication outcomes.

• Trade Qualification (Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Boilermaker/Fabrication role
• Demonstrated experience interpreting workshop drawings
• Proven MIG welding and fabrication experience
• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Reliable work ethic and positive attitude

• First Aid Certificate
• Experience with Sub-Arc welding
• Experience working within mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial evironments
• Previous exposure to conveyor systems or materials handling equipment
