Ventilation ERZC Deputy

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

We’re seeking a full-time, permanent Ventilation ERZC Deputy at Aquila Underground Mine, to help deliver effective mine ventilation that controls hazards and supports operational targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide best-practice ventilation advice and technical services to underground operations
• Ensure fit-for-purpose ventilation planning for life-of-mine and business plans
• Support site strategy and planning through technical input and innovation
• Identify opportunities for safety, productivity, and process improvements
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to Anglo American systems development

• Experience in similar role or as Ventilation Deputy
• 3rd Class Certificate of Competency (ERZC)
• Recognised qualifications in S123 & G2
• A sound knowledge of Queensland legislative requirements as well as Australian Mining & Resources sector experience

• Permanent, full-time position
• 7 on, 7 off roster
