As Trading Operations Manager, you step into a role that sits right at the heart of how CMC delivers for its clients. Reporting directly into our Head of Operations, you will oversee the Trading Operations team (four direct reports) across OTC and custodial products, equities, options, FX, indices, commodities, and crypto, ensuring the global trading engine runs smoothly around the clock. Your decisions will have a direct impact on how well the business serves its clients, and your fingerprints will be on real improvements to systems, workflows, and the team around you.

What you’ll be working on

You will lead the day-to-day operations of the Trading Operations team, with responsibility for:

• Real-time support to front office services including Dealing Desks (Trading, Derivatives, Treasury, Securities), Sales Trading, Institutional, and Client Services
• Accurate trade capture, booking, and allocation across internal and external systems, working with prime brokers and custodians as needed
• Investigating and resolving trade and pricing discrepancies in collaboration with Front Office, Prime Brokers, and the Pricing and Quant Services team
• Managing 24/5 global EOD coverage, including team handovers and timely escalation of issues and outages
• Overseeing operational risk including capturing, investigating, and documenting incidents, then implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence
• Partnering with Project, Development, and Technology teams to drive workflow automation and system enhancements
• Leading, mentoring, and developing your team by setting clear KPIs, building structured checklists, and fostering cross-training within appropriate segregation requirements
• Serving as the key regional contact for group initiatives and maintaining alignment with global best practice from the London team.

What will help you be successful?

• At least 5 years' experience in Financial Services Operations or Trade Support
• At least 3 years in a management role within a similar environment
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, corporate actions, and OTC and/or custodial operations
• A solid understanding of CFDs
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Full working rights in Australia.
