Your New Role

This is a 12‑month maximum term contract role, providing an opportunity to contribute to key initiatives within the team. Reporting to the Senior Risk Lead, this critical Line 1 Technology Risk role will support key program workstreams at the Fund, ensuring the workstreams are taking the right amount of risk to deliver on its objectives and that the appropriate controls and mitigating actions are in place to help manage identified delivered risks to acceptable levels.

 

Strong influencing skills and the ability to collaborate are essential as the successful candidate will work in partnership with project workstreams and key stakeholders across the Member and Technology, Digital and Data Domains at the Fund.

 

Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the program that is implementing the future AustralianSuper member service model as a Line 1 Technology Risk Manager on relevant workstreams, working closely with internal project teams who are delivering superior member outcomes.
  • Independently lead delivered risk assessments (initial through to final) for key technology orientated projects (e.g. new CRM for our Contact Centre, Contact Centre transitions).
  • Provide risk input into business requirements and solution designs as appropriate.
  • Complete ad-hoc risk assessments for key decisions on allocated workstreams.
  • Provide technology risk advice (leveraging AustralianSuper technology policies and standards) to all program workstreams.
  • Proactively engage with project and business stakeholders and be positioned as the first point of contact in relation to delivered risks within workstreams in the program. This will include understanding the changes and providing appropriate and balanced risk advice that will help the business safely deliver on agreed objectives.
  • Actively participate in relevant workstreams ways of working, including attending working group meetings, stand-ups, workshops, check-ins as appropriate.

     

What You’ll Need  

  • 5+ years’ experience in technology and/or operational risk, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, particularly in a Line 1 risk role.
  • Line 1 technology risk experience in large organisational transformation programs would be advantageous.
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and resolve competing priorities.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and ability to professionally handle confidential matters.
  • Commercially astute and the ability to influence and offer pragmatic advice underpinned by sound risk management principles.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
