Your New Role and Responsibilities

The Air Component Command and Control Capability System (AC-C2CS) is a mission-critical suite of software applications that enables the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to effectively plan, prepare, execute, manage, and report on aviation operations.

Working from the RAAF Base in Glenbrook, NSW, the Technical Operations Manager plays a key role in delivering reliable, mission‑critical services. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the position works closely with IT support teams nationwide and collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to coordinate cross‑regional operations and maintain high standards of service performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a technical team providing solutions and coordinating SMEs/vendors for major incident resolution, ensuring clear communication and reporting. 
  • End-to-end delivery of reliable, efficient, and high-quality IT services supporting core business operations. 
  • Build relationships with IT and business stakeholders to drive innovations that improve reliability, performance, and efficiency. 
  • Monitor IT service health against SLAs, KPIs, and metrics, and manage vendor/customer performance reviews. 
  • Influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders to manage expectations and priorities effectively. 

What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

  • Proven track record building high performance teams 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure; mentoring experience desirable. 
  • Proven experience in managing complex IT infrastructures, preferably in Government or Defence ICT environments. 
  • Intermediate ITIL certification (Service Operations, Transition) and practical application of ITIL processes. 
  • Familiarity with MS Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, SCOM, and experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
