Structural Engineer - Reporting to the Regional Manager – NSW, you will be responsible for the structural design of process plants and their associated infrastructure across various projects.

The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis at our Newcastle CBD office.

Key duties

• Undertake the structural design of materials handling and processing facility structures such as conveyors, bins and process buildings
• Develop of cost-effective designs that are project appropriate and to the clients’ needs
• Provide technical support and guidance to the drafting team whilst supervising the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs
• Maintain and foster relationships with the DRA multidisciplinary team, clients and contractors
• Conduct site inspections during construction, and
• Regional structural inspections and reporting on brownfields structures, and developing design solution to on-site structural issues

Essential attributes

• Tertiary Degree – Civil / Structural Engineering
• 3+ years working in an engineering detailed design environment
• Strong maths and structural analysis skills
• Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safety
• Most importantly, an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn

Advantageous attributes

• CPEng/Registered Status or working towards
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Space Gass or Strand7
• Experience in mining and/or heavy industry is highly regarded; however, we welcome candidates from other sectors and will provide support to build industry-specific knowledge.
