Description

Keep the network moving by ensuring the right parts are in the right place, every time. As the Stores & Inventory Coordinator, you’ll manage all inventory, storage and materials handling functions that support maintenance, emergency response and operational readiness across the Northern Assets motorway and tunnel network. 

 

This role is perfect for someone who is organised, detail‑driven and thrives in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Managing all inventory records, cycle counts and annual stocktake with accuracy 

  • Ensuring safe, compliant storage and handling of all materials, including hazardous and dangerous goods 

  • Maintaining critical spares and ensuring parts are ready for planned works and emergency repairs 

  • Preparing and staging materials for maintenance teams across multiple sites 

  • Raising purchase requisitions, managing suppliers and ensuring timely, cost‑effective procurement 

  • Supporting audit readiness, reporting on stock trends, and driving continuous improvement in store operations 

     

What you’ll bring

  • A forklift licence (mandatory) and competency handling materials safely 

  • Experience using inventory or CMMS systems, ideally Maximo 

  • Knowledge of WHS, manual handling, hazardous substances and Chain of Responsibility obligations 

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and process discipline

  • The ability to stay calm and effective during breakdowns or emergency stock requests 

  • Desirable qualifications include an EWP licence or a Certificate in Logistics or Supply Chain.
