About you

Your key duties and tasks

• Maintain the mechanical safety of all equipment on site
• Sound mechanical knowledge of
  • Small and large stationary motors
  • Toyota 4WD utilities and wagons
  • HC Trucks
  • Heavy Diesel and earthmoving equipment
  • Auto electrical experience
• Carry out repairs, services and overhauls as required
• Manage and record the maintenance program for all vehicles, plant and machinery
• Maintain spare parts and inventory
• Ensure you are always communicating clearly
• Travel to other stations as and when required
• Welding (stick, MIG, TIG) would be advantageous

What you will need

• A genuine interest in working and living on a remote cattle station
• Hold a mechanical trade qualification with post trade experience
• Excellent diagnostic, fault finding, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• An unrestricted current drivers licence (manual)

Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.

This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.

This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10 - 20 kilo's and occasionally more.
