Wood is currently sourcing Expressions of Interest for an experienced Site Superintendent/Senior Mechanical Supervisor to support a potential short-term shutdown in Port Campbell, commencing early April.

This role is responsible for providing leadership and organising work crews to safely execute planned maintenance shutdown activities in accordance with Wood and Client Maintenance processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of small-to-medium sized, multi skilled mechanical & electrical crews with multiple work assignments and locations
  • Execute approved work orders utilising relevant client work procedures and permitting requirements
  • Instructing the work crew on job scope and checking their work methods, output, punctuality, and job progress
  • Implementing and maintaining a safe working environment adhering to correct work practices and procedures
  • Responsible for base discipline site activities and ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks
  • Plans and organise work activities, in line with project schedules, in a timely manner to ensure information, materials, tools and equipment are available to avoid minimal disruption to workforce
  • Responsible for accurate site progress reporting, ensuring accurate capture of direct and non-productive man hours
  • Identify any opportunities / issues in a timely manner
  • Responsible for creating the necessary permits and risk assessments for work activities
  • Participate in daily operations meeting with client on maintenance and operation activities, projects & shutdowns, communicating schedule and task execution to the work force
  • Leads daily toolbox talks with site labour at the beginning of each day
  • Monitor Work orders against planning
  • Monitor labour expenditure against work order allocation
  • Ensure timesheets are accurately recorded to the correct task/job and project the employees are allocated to
  • Ensure material, tools and equipment are fit for purpose, checked and certified prior to use.
  • Actively promotes excellence in HS&E by coordinating onsite Safety programmes in coordination with Wood and clients policy


Qualifications

What makes you remarkable?

  • National recognised Trade Certificate
  • Ideally 5 years minimum experience as Site Supervisor in the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Shutdown supervisory / leadership qualities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Excel) fort time writing and administrative tasks
  • Sound influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with the client to understand requirements
  • Ability to provide technical insight and advice on a wide range of project areas

The successful candidate will undergo medical checks and will be required to provide certificates and tickets.
