The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV) is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years. 

 

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including: 

 

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga) 
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) 
  • RAAF Base Wagga 

 

The proposed capital investment of $2 billion will incorporate a variety of elements including: 

 

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation 
  • Construction of new training facilities 
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings 
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

The opportunity 

 

We currently have an opportunity for a Site Engineer to support the delivery of the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture’s major Defence projects. As a Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of Defence building work packages at RAAF Base Wagga, providing hands on engineering support across construction, quality, safety, cost and program.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Support delivery of building and services packages from construction to handover 

  • Coordinate site activities, crews, subcontractors and material deliveries 

  • Ensure works meet quality, safety, design and Defence compliance requirements 

  • Maintain site documentation, inspections, ITPs and project records 

  • Assist with planning, cost tracking, variations and project reporting

 

What you’ll bring 

 

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree, or similar

  • Background in building and/or building services construction projects 

  • A minim of 3 years site‑based engineering experience 

  • Understanding of quality, safety and compliance in regulated environments 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, subcontractors and clients 

  • Strong planning, communication and problem‑solving capability

This role is based at Wagga Wagga. Relocation assistance is available for the successful candidate if required. This is not a DIDO or FIFO role, applicants must be willing to relocate, be an Australian citizen and willing to obtain a security clearance.
