About the role
Location: Onsite - Kwinana Pigment Plant – Mason Road Kwinana
Contract Type: Max Term Contract – 21 Nov 2027
Roster: Monday – Friday (38hr Week - 9 day fortnight option)
Hours: 7.00am – 4.00pm (approx.)
Join our Maintenance team as a Shutdown Maintenance Planner, where you’ll play a key role in preparing, coordinating, and optimising minor shutdown events across the site. Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Leader, you’ll make sure shutdown activities are thoroughly scoped, resourced, and communicated .
This role suits someone with hands on mechanical fitting experience, strong planning capability, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to bring people together to deliver successful shutdown outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of shutdown procedures, documentation, and planning tools.
- Manage the full shutdown workflow within the site’s CMMS to support preparation and execution.
- Ensure all regulatory, statutory, and company standards are incorporated into shutdown plans.
- Identify isolation requirements and coordinate permit applications to the production team.
- Develop shutdown work packs, detailed work instructions, and schedule activities.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to optimise shutdown scope and duration.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to secure equipment, materials, and services.
- Monitor shutdown progress, maintain KPI scorecards, and track execution performance.
- Conduct post-shutdown reviews, capture lessons learned, and support continuous improvement.
- Apply structured planning and scheduling practices to support long-term maintenance and budget objectives.
- Build effective working relationships across operations, maintenance, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure shutdown planning activities comply with site safety systems, EMS requirements, and environmental obligations.
About you
To be successful with your application, you will bring
- Mechanical Trade or Mechanical Engineering Qualifications (essential)
- 3 - 5 years Maintenance planning with Minimum of 2 years Shutdown planning experience in a processing plant (essential)
- Hands-on experience in a processing plant environment, ideally gained as a mechanical tradesperson (essential)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Project & SAP for maintenance planning (essential)
- Prometheus Maintenance planning experience (Highly desirable)
- Solid understanding of isolation, permitting, and safety systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing demands, and deliver accurate work packs.
- A structured approach to planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Valid Driver’s License
