This role is remote friendly for candidates based outside Perth. For team members based in Perth, there is an expectation of attending the office at least two days per week to support collaboration and team connection.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to join our Perth / Southwest team, working on a diverse portfolio of resource and infrastructure projects.

This role offers flexibility in how and where you work, while remaining closely connected to the Perth team and broader project stakeholders.


 

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate civil design for projects or discrete project components, working closely with other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical leadership across civil scopes including bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, pads, constructability and interdisciplinary interfaces.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, models and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Develop study and design documentation, technical specifications and project deliverables.
  • Identify and manage technical and commercial risks, supporting mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor and support junior engineers, designers and drafters in both technical delivery and professional development.
  • Provide direction to civil design teams as required.
  • Actively contribute to business development activities, including identifying, shaping, and helping secure new work aligned with the consulting strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients to support repeat work and long-term engagement.
  • Leverage project delivery to identify follow-on and pull-through opportunities across disciplines and service lines.
  • Support proposal development, including scope definition, technical input, and client engagement as required.
  • Represent the business externally through industry engagement, professional forums, and client interactions, enhancing market presence and brand recognition.


 

What you’ll have

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Extensive civil engineering experience delivering resource and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated technical acumen with proven experience of managing and delivering design solutions.
  • Track record of effective cross-discipline project delivery and an effective collaborator with all key engineering disciplines.
  • A collaborative approach and appreciation for the value of teamwork.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, quality and improving service for our clients.
  • High attention to detail, good analytical and communication skills.
  • Capacity to lead and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
  • Previous experience across scopes involving roads, drainage and pads for mining infrastructure and facilities.
  • Experience in preparing engineering calculations, and checking design drawings and models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders.
