Toll Group is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead and grow our Dampier operations, supporting key clients across ports, supply base, linehaul and infield services. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for safety, people, commercial performance and customer outcomes across the region.

About the role:

Based in Dampier and reporting to the SVP Ports, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operational, safety and commercial performance of the Dampier site and associated operations. You’ll lead a large, diverse workforce, ensure statutory and corporate compliance, strengthen client relationships and drive continuous improvement and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible and proactive safety leadership, driving a Safe and Incident Free culture
  • Lead, develop and engage a large operational workforce (approximately 4 direct and 100 indirect reports)
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, licences, accreditations and Toll policies
  • Manage day-to-day operations across ports, supply base, linehaul and infield services
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds expectations
  • Deliver sustainable commercial outcomes through cost control and revenue optimisation
  • Develop, monitor and report on operational and customer KPIs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and operational change programs
  • Oversee asset management, fleet presentation and depot standards
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region

More About You:

You are an experienced, hands-on leader with a strong operational background in Mining, logistics or transport. You are confident leading teams in complex, safety-critical environments and bring the commercial acumen required to deliver sustainable results.

  • At least 5 years’ management experience in mining, transport, logistics or a related industry
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safety and compliance frameworks
  • Experience in resources, ports or offshore operations (highly regarded)
  • Strong customer focus with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving capabilities
  • Sound systems skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence
