Senior Civil Engineer

We are excited to be seeking a Senior Civil Engineer reporting into the Civil Engineering Team lead to monitor and control deadlines, provide efficient and high-quality civil design solutions, provide expertise on site as required, liaise with sub-contractors and produce tender SoW docs and BOQ’s. 

The is a fulltime permanent role looks supports Power Projects nationally based in Brisbane working at out head office in Milton. 

What you’ll do

• Deliver design packages so that they comply with and meet expectations from clients, communities, environmental management requirements and other legislative requirements 

• Work alongside team members to deliver packages of work

• Provide support to the design manager in terms of reporting, RFI’s and variations
• Assist with the development of a project budget and monitor and control project costs
• Ensure design is checked thoroughly and follow the Quality Control Process 
• Provide expert technical advice to the Project Delivery and wider program teams 
• Provide input to reporting on project performance and progress, including development of solutions to issues that compromise attainment of agreed performance targets 
• Attend initial planning site visits

What we’re looking for

• Qualifications in relevant Engineering Discipline
• 10+ years’ project delivery experience within the Power Industry delivering substation and transmission civil design
• Experience in Utility substation infrastructure civil and the use of CAD packages such as, Micro Station, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of the major components which comprise HV transmission and distribution networks such as transmission lines, access tracks, drainage, roads, fencing, sediment and erosion, oil containment and management 
• Advanced design knowledge of civil bulk earthworks, drainage and oil containment
• Advanced design knowledge of survey, Geotech and integration of data into 3D models
