With a strong pipeline of work across roads, transport infrastructure and urban development, we’re looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex projects and growing our transport capability.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior technical role where you’ll influence design outcomes, work closely with clients, mentor emerging engineers, and contribute to winning and delivering meaningful work.



Responsibilities

As a Senior Civil Engineer in our Transport team, you’ll work across the full project lifecycle, combining strong technical capability with client focus and commercial awareness. Your role will include:

  • Designing and delivering civil and transport engineering solutions, including road, drainage and related infrastructure
  • Preparing technical reports and reviewing project outputs in line with the delegation of authority
  • Managing the scope, quality, risk and delivery of multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Contributing to – and leading – winning proposals
  • Building trusted client relationships and proactively identifying new business opportunities
  • Collaborating across disciplines and leveraging WSP’s national and global expertise
  • Supporting digital engineering and BIM‑enabled delivery approaches
  • Championing safety‑in‑design, quality systems and SHEQ obligations
  • Mentoring and supporting graduates and early‑career engineers
  • Actively progressing your professional development, including chartership


Qualifications

You’re a motivated civil engineer who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively and delivering high‑quality outcomes for clients. You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Typically 5+ years’ experience in civil / transport engineering
  • Experience delivering small to medium projects
  • Exposure to managing or supervising graduates and junior engineers
  • Strong knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and design guidelines
  • Experience applying safety‑in‑design, QA and OH&S systems
  • The ability to build and maintain effective client relationships
  • Experience with civil and drainage design tools such as 12d, CAD, DRAINS, MUSIC or similar
  • Construction phase or superintendency experience (well‑regarded but not essential)
  • A commitment to working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
