Our National Civil Infrastructure team specialises in the design of all civil aspects for the markets Beca operate in, which includes Defence, Transport, Power, Water and Industrial markets.  This is a skilled high performing team providing civil expertise around stormwater drainage, earthworks and road/pavement design across Australia.  Increasingly these are within the Defence infrastructure sector.

The opportunity

Our established civil team is growing and looking for an experienced Senior Associate Civil Structural Engineer to join our NSW team.

This is a varied role that includes managing and delivering civil structures projects (with support from our technical specialists), liaising with clients and design management:  We are also looking for this person to take on the role of Team Leader to support the development of the NSW civil structural engineering team within our wider National Civil Infrastructure team.

You will be responsible for: -

  • Providing expertise in structural analysis and design - covering primarily steel and reinforced / prestressed concrete structures.  Design experience in civil structures such as road and rail infrastructure is essential.

  • Utilising your network of contacts and business development skills to actively promote our business and develop client relationships

  • Job delivery, including experience in work planning and financial management, together with client relationship skills and proposal preparation.

  • Guiding and supporting younger engineers within the civil structural engineering team and wider project teams

  • Building strong customer relationships, and demonstrate your ability to understand our client's core business and ensure that services meet their expectations

  • Demonstrate your ability and passion for providing technical advice and project leadership while embracing a culture that values team work

  • The desire to contribute on a range of civil structural projects across all markets we operate in.

About you

You will be a Chartered or near Chartered Structural Engineer, with a strong track record in the successful delivery of design and construction of civil structures projects in a consulting environment.  Self-motivated, you strive for technical excellence and exceeding client expectations.  You will have the drive and motivation to lead and develop your own team to collaboratively deliver on business and project goals.  A detailed knowledge of the Australian market and Australian standards is highly preferable.
