Redpath Australia currently has an opportunity for a Safety & Training Coordinator at our Dugald River Project, North Queensland. The Redpath Group is a leading mining contractor with almost 10,000 employees on projects across the globe. We specialise in shaft sinking, mine development, contract mining, raiseboring, underground construction, engineering & technical services, and specialty services in the mining and construction sectors.



Responsibilities

The role involves

Working an 8&6 roster as part of the OHS team, the Safety & Training Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, monitoring and implementation of all Health, Safety & Training requirements for the project, ensuring they meet Redpath's and all relevant legislative requirements. Their duties will consist of but not limited to – 

  • Identify improvements or updates for safety & training needs for the project;

  • Coordinate all safety and training functions for the project, ensuring adequate resources are provided to support the project operations;

  • Facilitate and complete risk assessment, management of change and other associated HSEQ systems requirements;

  • Maintain and develop the training requirements for all roles at the Project.



Qualifications

We are looking for

  • Extensive experience in a Safety and Training position within the underground hard rock mining space;

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  • Attention to detail ensuring all standards and compliance is met

  • Valid manual drivers licence 

  • A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done — safely.
