Wood is recruiting an Onshore Quality Control Inspector as part of our strategic growth plan for 2026 and beyond. You will join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with major players in the Oil & Gas industry, supporting significant brownfields Engineering Service Contracts. Based in Perth CBD, this is a long-term opportunity that is available on a full-time / part-time basis under a contractor engagement.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Quality Control Inspector reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will provide QA / QC expertise for design and execution of the work-scope on various projects for one of our key contracts.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • QC review of supplier documentation submitted for purchased product to confirm compliance with requirements
  • QA / QC activities at office facilities and vendor manufacturing sites to achieve project objectives
  • Reviewing and assessing QA / QC requirements of tenders and contract documentation
  • Reviewing and approval of Supplier Inspection and Test Plans meeting project requirements
  • Liaising with client quality personnel on project quality activities
  • Evaluation of potential suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Reviewing, coordinating, monitoring and supervising Quality Plans submitted to the project from suppliers
  • Assisting with the development of corrective actions, their implementation and monitoring for effectiveness
  • Supervise and conduct quality capability assessment of vendors/subcontractors as required

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must hold full work rights to work in this Australian location. 

Ideally, you will be suitably qualified (Technical Diploma or Business / Commerce / Engineering Degree) from a recognized institution and have a minimum of 7+ years of proven experience in a similar role. 

In addition, you will have:

  • Understanding of QA/QC principles and objectives
  • Proven experience in QC review of supplier documentation for compliance 
  • Proven experience in internal and external auditing with knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO complemented by experience successfully implementing ISO Frameworks in a training environment
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills 
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of relevant software packages
  • A “solutions mindset” and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities

What will set you apart will be your relevant experience in the Offshore / Onshore LNG or O&G brownfields engineering EPCM sector in Australia, particularly evidence working across multiple concurrent projects.
