The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and skilled Heavy Diesel Maintainer/Operator to join our team at the Klein Point Quarry.

Reporting to the Supervisor – Klein Point, this role is responsible for ensuring mobile plant and equipment is operated and maintained safely, efficiently and to the highest availability to support quarry production requirements.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, safety‑driven, and committed to maintaining high professional standards. If you enjoy a varied role combining equipment operation with hands‑on mechanical maintenance, we want to hear from you.

This position operates on a continuous shift roster.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy mobile equipment including loaders, haul trucks, excavators, and other quarry plant
  • Conduct mechanical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy diesel and mobile equipment
  • Perform routine servicing, lubrication, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support quarry production activities to meet daily and long‑term operational targets
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and maintenance documentation
  • Uphold Adbri’s safety, environmental and quality standards at all times

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Heavy diesel trade qualification (HD fitter, diesel mechanic, or equivalent)
  • Experience operating and maintaining heavy mobile equipment in a quarry, mining, or heavy industrial environment (can be trained if no experience)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a high‑performing team
  • Solid understanding of safe work practices and risk mitigation
  • Basic computer literacy for maintenance systems and reporting
  • A continuous improvement mindset with practical problem‑solving skills
  • Current C-class driver licence
