As part of the STH team delivering the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 Experiences programme, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their Sydney office.
 
ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager - Overlay / Fit Out, you will play a key role in delivering temporary infrastructure and fit-out requirements across venues and hospitality sites for the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 Experiences programme. Key responsibilities include:
 

• Leading overlay and fit-out delivery across multiple venues and hospitality sites.
• Managing contractors and suppliers to meet delivery and programme requirements.
• Coordinating technical drawings, documentation and approvals.
• Supporting budget management and identifying cost efficiencies.
• Ensuring all works meet WHS, safety and compliance requirements.
• Working with internal teams to align overlay delivery with wider event operations.
• Managing project reporting, risks, timelines and key milestones.
• Leading onsite installation and dismantling to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

 
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking an experienced, practical and solutions-focused operations professional with a strong background in event overlay, temporary infrastructure or venue fit-out. You will bring:  
 

• Overlay & Fit-Out Experience - 3+ years' experience delivering event overlay, temporary infrastructure or venue fit-out.
• Supplier Management - Experience managing contractors and suppliers against timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Health & Safety Knowledge - Working knowledge of Australian WHS regulations and safe working practices.
• Technical Capability - Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate project documentation.
• Problem Solving - A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges.
• Adaptability & Attention to Detail - The ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high delivery standards.
• Passion for Sport & Major Events - Beneficial but not essential.
