Operations Manager, Energy

The opportunity

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational, commercial and strategic performance of Downer's Energy projects across Western Australia. You will lead project teams, strengthen customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest quality standards.

You will work closely with senior leaders, project managers and clients to drive sustainable growth, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure successful delivery of business objectives.

• Lead the performance and delivery of a portfolio of energy projects and contracts 
• Develop and maintain strategic customer relationships while identifying new opportunities for growth 
• Drive commercial outcomes, P&L performance, risk management and project profitability 
• Champion Downer's Zero Harm culture through visible leadership and operational excellence 
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant leadership experience managing complex project or operational portfolios
• Current Electrical Licence highly regarded, with Electrical Nominee and/or Electrical Management Representative qualifications preferred
• Strong client relationship management, business development and strategic growth capability
• Demonstrated P&L accountability and commercial management experience
• A proven track record leading high-performing teams and delivering safe, profitable project outcomes
• Experience within energy, electrical infrastructure, industrial projects, utilities, resources, power generation or related sectors will be highly regarded
