What’s on offer?

Fulton Hogan is proud to have been awarded the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract with the Department of Transport and Planning, starting 1 July 2026.

This means we will be on the ground delivering critical road construction, maintenance and resurfacing works throughout the Loddon Mallee Region, including:

  • Working on planned maintenance programs designed for long-term performance
  • Rebuilding and rehabilitating major road sections
  • Delivering high-quality resurfacing works across priority networks
  • Responding to urgent repairs to keep roads operational

As a result, Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Operations Manager based in Kyneton or Bendigo to provide end‑to‑end leadership of the VRMC contract for the Department of Transport and Planning. This role is responsible for the strategic and operational management of works delivered by internal maintenance teams and subcontractors, ensuring high performance, strong safety outcomes, and the consistent delivery of services that meet client and community expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the VRMC contract to achieve agreed business objectives and profitability, in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Oversee direct and indirect reports, coordinating day to day operational activities across the contract
  • Prepare business plans and annual budgets, and monitor financial performance against targets
  • Be accountable for service quality by directing staff, monitoring procedures and implementing corrective actions where required
  • Foster a strong health and safety culture by leading incident investigations, reviewing safety indicators and ensuring compliance with site rules, audits and company procedures
  • Oversee resources, environmental processes and legislative compliance to meet company and regulatory standards
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal business units, external service providers and key stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and compliant maintenance of statutory and organisational records

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in the successful management of complex civil infrastructure projects
  • Proven capability to work collaboratively with clients across a range of contract and commercial models
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills

You will hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with a minimum 10 years’ relevant industry experience.
