Metal Fabricator (NSW)

The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for the production and fabrication of steel tanks and components following specific codes, company standards, and design drawings. This position requires candidates with hands-on experience in metal fabrication to meet production schedules and quality requirements efficiently.

The Metal Fabricator will also be involved in assembling steel accessories, interpreting technical drawings, and performing quality assurance tasks. Candidates will need to collaborate closely with the Production Foreman and Operations Manager to ensure smooth operations in the workshop.

Reports to: Production Foreman (Steel)
Location: New South Wales, Australia

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture steel tanks according to drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate and assemble steel accessories such as platforms, ladders, and stairways.
• Carry out tank fit-out and ensure all accessories are correctly installed.
• Conduct cleaning and testing of completed tanks to ensure quality standards.
• Operate overhead cranes to assist with production tasks.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure accurate fabrication.
• Complete quality assurance (QA) paperwork and maintain process control documentation.
• Assist in training new team members on fabrication processes and safety protocols.
• Ensure workshop housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.

Production Foreman (Steel)

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication.
• Experience with tank manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Strong understanding of quality control processes and procedures.
• Experience in operating overhead cranes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
