NEPEAN Longwall® partners with its customers to design, engineer, integrate and support longwall equipment and systems. With purpose built facilities located in both Queensland and New South Wales, NEPEAN Longwall offers a full suite of after sales services enabling it to support products throughout their life cycle. The experienced, committed and motivated team at NEPEAN Longwall has demonstrated their capability over many years to deliver longwall equipment and system solutions. NEPEAN Longwall’s corporate headquarters is located in Mackay, Queensland. This purpose built facility provides comprehensive after sales service and support to the region’s customers.

Our Opportunity
Due to continued growth, NEPEAN Longwall QLD is seeking Mechanical Fitters to join our Mackay based operations. Opportunities are available on a short term contract and permanent full time basis, with AM and PM shift options.

Daily duties include:
• Assembly and disassembly of underground mining materials handling equipment including Roof Supports, AFC and BSL overhauls
• Minor welding and general workshop support tasks
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices through demonstration of correct work procedures
• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment in line with 5S standards

Future opportunities within the broader NEPEAN group may be available for the right candidate.

The Right Person
To be considered, you will have:
• A current Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Legal rights to work in Australia
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• The ability to work independently and within a team environment
