As our long-term, major operations and maintenance contract continues to grow, we are seeking a talented Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Tradesperson to join our team at Amberley RAAF base – South East Queensland.

• Support the Defence Fuel Network across Australia, ensuring excellence in Mechanical Maintenance and reliability.
• Contribute directly to the success of a program essential to national defence capability.
• Work alongside industry experts, Defence partners, and UGL’s outstanding teams.

The Role

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at RAAF Amberley, supporting surrounding locations in the South East QLD region, with occasional regional travel. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL technicians.

The duties will include, but not limited to; 

• Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
• Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
• Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
• Support subcontracted work packages as required
• Support various sites in Brisbane with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout QLD

The Rates:

Level 1 - $47.07 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)

Level 2 - $50.67 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)

Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $54.28 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)

What you Need

You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer.

We expect the successful applicants to have the following

• Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
• Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas.
• Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded
• Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
• Safety is at the forefront of everything you do!
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
