What's the role?

We have a lifestyle change position within Newscorp  publishers of the Townsville Bulletin. A position has become available within the Reliability Team where we are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to be based at our Townsville print production facility. 

You will be working in an air- conditioned progressive work environment where we offer a supportive culture and opportunities to expand your skill set and allow you to perform at your best.

Your training will be enhanced with specific industry skills including vibration analysis and pneumatic training. You will participate within a team of highly skilled professional Fitters, Electricians, Printers, Publishers and Production personnel.

Roster is as follows: 

2 weeks day shift - 7:00 am - 3:00 pm (5 day week)

2 weeks evening shift - 12:30 pm - 10:30/11:00 pm (4 day week)

Who are you?

  • A strong safety focus

  • Have well developed communication skills

  • Exceptional diagnostic & problem solving skills

  • Trade Certificate in Fitting & Turning

  • 4th year apprentice or on completion of apprenticeship encouraged to apply

  • Experience in Manufacturing process Work would be Advantageous

  • Computer skills
