Description

Play a key leadership role maintaining the critical mechanical, electrical and tunnel systems that keep Sydney’s major road network moving. As the M&E Lead, you’ll oversee the performance, reliability and compliance of ventilation systems, fire and life safety assets, lighting, power distribution, ITS infrastructure and SCADA interfaces across the Northern Assets network.

 

Working with a skilled in‑house team and specialist contractors, you’ll lead both planned maintenance and rapid technical response when faults occur, ensuring the network remains safe, available and compliant.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and guide the M&E maintenance team across all key asset systems, ensuring safe and reliable performance 

  • Coordinate and oversee the technical response to electrical and mechanical failures, restoring systems quickly and safely 

  • Plan and deliver preventative and corrective maintenance across tunnel and roadside systems 

  • Ensure compliance with WHS, IMS and HV/LV switching requirements, and lead investigations where needed 

  • Collaborate with Transurban and internal teams to manage shutdowns, outages and network priorities

 

What you’ll bring

  • An electrical trade licence or relevant engineering qualification 

  • HV/LV switching competency and a White Card 

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical or tunnel systems within motorway or infrastructure environments 

  • Experience managing M&E teams, system reliability, and specialist contractors/OEMs 

  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive during faults and outages
