Salary: UOM 10 - $156,480 p.a. plus 17% super

Your next career opportunity: 
You will lead critical transparency and disclosure programs that safeguard research integrity and national security across the University. You will guide researchers and leaders through complex risks, turning regulation into clear, practical governance and assurance. You will manage a specialist team, drive continuous improvement and influence institutional policy and external engagement. 

What you will deliver: 

  • Lead design, implementation and continuous improvement of University-wide transparency, disclosure and research security compliance programs. 

  • Oversee foreign interest and conflict of interest disclosure processes, registers, reporting and pragmatic management controls for assurance. 

  • Provide expert advice on conflicts, foreign arrangements, export controls and related legislation, including complex, sensitive or high-risk cases. 

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to develop training, communications and data processes that strengthen awareness and responsible research culture. 

  • Represent the University in engagement with government and regulators, advocating for workable, risk-based research security frameworks. 
     

You may be a great fit if you: 

  • Hold tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline, ideally with exposure to research environments. 

  • Demonstrate applied knowledge of research security legislation, foreign interference guidelines and conflict of interest principles. 

  • Bring experience working with regulators or government stakeholders and operating within complex compliance and governance frameworks. 

  • Exercise strong analytical judgement to interpret complex information and resolve sensitive, complex or high-risk technical matters. 

  • Lead and develop small teams, delivering high-quality services and fostering a strong client and service focus. 

  • Manage competing priorities, build effective systems and communicate clearly through written materials, presentations and education programmes.

You will join the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity within Research, Innovation and Commercialisation. The team supports researchers and leaders to conduct high-quality research that is ethical, responsible and secure. We collaborate across faculties, institutes and Chancellery to strengthen governance, manage risk and enable impactful partnerships. You will work in a supportive, expert community that values service excellence, continuous improvement and professional development.
