What’s on offer?

Fulton Hogan is proud to have been awarded the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract with the Department of Transport and Planning, starting 1 July 2026.

This means we will be on the ground delivering critical road construction, maintenance and resurfacing works throughout the Loddon Mallee Region, including:

  • Working on planned maintenance programs designed for long-term performance
  • Rebuilding and rehabilitating major road sections
  • Delivering high-quality resurfacing works across priority networks
  • Responding to urgent repairs to keep roads operational

As a result, Fulton Hogan is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (South) to join our team, based in Kyneton, Bendigo or Echuca. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of upcoming maintenance works, with a strong focus on delivering outcomes that meet both client and community expectations. You’ll work closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure road maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use asset management systems to analyse asset condition data, monitor maintenance performance against agreed programmes and defect thresholds, and ensure works are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of road maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all works comply with safety, environmental, quality and community/stakeholder management requirements, promptly escalating any issues or non‑conformances.
  • Interpret and apply contract clauses, pricing schedules and work specifications to achieve optimal safety, financial and reputational outcomes for the business.
  • Monitor contractor and internal crew performance, ensuring adherence to specifications, standards and agreed timeframes.

About You

You’ll bring a practical, organised and collaborative approach, along with:

  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience using a computer‑based asset management system or similar software/application.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within construction, infrastructure maintenance or a related sector.
  • An engineering, project management or similar qualification (highly regarded).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
